One of the best books I’ve ever read. Truly. It‘s so engaging and surprised me in more ways than one. The character development is astounding. I cared SO much SO early on. Seriously phenomenal. I could have read about Evelyn Hugo for a thousand more pages.

I do understand why so many people love this book. The writing style is incredibly engaging and you're instantly swept away into the glamour and deceit of Hollywood. I really loved the characterisation of Evelyn Hugo, she was manipulative and horrible really but she was always unapologetic about it. She knew what she was doing and why. You, like the characters within the novel, have very complex and contradictory opinions towards her. The anticipation throughout the novel is also a highlight. Yo

This was incredibly hard to put down; I found myself constantly thinking about the story, not because it was shocking or unpredictable but because of the character and how real she felt to me. The writing had a sort of fanfic-like quality to it, in that it seemed to envelope you within its world entirely and I say that as a compliment. I really enjoyed reading this tbh.

2.5 stars;
This been the second book I read from this author, unfortunately it’s my least favorite so far and this was so disappointing.
What I liked:
The writing style was beautiful and this wasn’t a surprise, she know how to use her words without been too much flowery just as I like it.
The character work is marvelous it’s so hard to believe they are fictional, they were not perfect however, they were perfectelly written.
The audiobook was perfect one of the best.

When I first saw the LGBT tag I thought it would be a side character or a small part of the story, how much could be there anyway when we're talking about a woman and her 7 husbands? And god I was wrong. I don't have much interest in the topic and I hardly have any to be honest but I'm surprised that it kept me hooked until the end.

There's so much I could say about this book, but I'll just encourage y'all to experience it for yourselves. It's a magical story that is somehow both heartwarming and heartbreaking, and its characters will stick with me for a long time.
