I have to say that it was a very difficult book to read and was difficult to follow some of his arguments. Is said I think I understood most of it. Darwin starts of his argument about why evolution might happen by natural selection by taking as example the modification of species that takes place through man made selection. He goes on to present evidence of how complex organs such as the human eye might have evolved by showing of I nature examples of organs that change color depending of the lig ...more

I give credit to Darwin for giving us the insight to evolution of the species of course in a different way Lamarck did 50 years before. In my opinion both of them are equally important in understanding how life evolved.

Egad! I stumbled into a Christian foundation's version of this book. Wastes over 50 pages on an "Introduction" by the scientifically unqualified preacher Ray Comfort.
