This book is a great history of physics. Jennifer Ouellette does a fine job of packaging complex topics into an easy universal media that should be understandable for just about anyone.
Additionally she spends time in each chapter giving a brief bio on the key players and their achievements. She also does a good job of telling both sides of a controversial subject without picking a side, such as camera obsura and artist from the 16-1700’s using these devices to “fake” art.
