I Contain Multitudes' by Ed Yong is a fun read!

Each one of us is a microbiome, with billions of bacteria literally on every bit of our skin and hair. Inside our bodies and in our cells, we have even more interesting little microscopic monsters. Plus, we share these little bugs with everyone we meet, especially the people we live with. If you have a dog, the volume of bacteria in your home increases exponentially.

Topic 5 stars, but the writing style missed the mark for me. As others have commented, it read like a disjointed series of magazine articles.
Example: "It's hard stuff, this science business, but someone's got to do it."

I savored this book slowly. The little biologist inside me was thrilled! I was eager to read some of the research cited and asked intelligent folks I know loads of questions. Don’t let big words or long binomial nomenclature scare you off.

Wonderful overview of microbes and their important role in the ecosystem and health. This isn't a book about diseases but of the importance of microbes in harmony. Yong does a great job of touching on important ideas in basic science and expanding upon them with anecdotes and research. Looking forward to reading more from him.

A minor note is the font in the paperback felt small, while there were big gaps between lines. If I were to read again, I would choose a digital version so I could edit the
