I have a confession to make; I have never read Persuasion. I know, I know. Blasphemy! But I kept reading P&P variations instead. It is in my TBR still! But I know the broad strokes from film adaptations.
Still, I decided to give this book a chance. The premise was just too fun. Unfortunately, the book fell flat for me. The biggest weakness of this book is that it cannot quite decide how much of a Persuasion variation it wants to be. Plenty of the book is devoted to Darcy's and Elizabeth's perspe ...more

Avid Reader
I enjoyed reading this book on Cass' blog and couldn't wait for it to be published. Whenever I think of the book "Persuasion," I always think of Cirian Hinds as Captain Wentworth. Sigh...
Where to begin?
This book didn’t start out to be a farce, but the ending read as one. I don’t know if it’s me, this damn pandemic, menopause or all three, but I was cranky a lot of the time I read this, as will be apparent in my comments.
I rate most books three stars and save four and five for the standouts. If you want to read a really great mashup between p and p and persuasion, I suggest Ardently.
