Looking back and seeing this after so long just makes me feel so old. Geez... I mean I read this for the first time like what six years ago?? I mean I look back at this and feel like I could say

Looking back though I adored this series. I was and still am the kind of person who loves a strong female protagonist who can kick butt and then not to mention that I also love the idea of having wings and flying. I mean who doesn't want to have that sensation of being free and flying, but also the way that this book shows you the pain and suffering that all these kids have to go through is just very detailed and amazing to read.

I mean this book is about six genetically altered kids who have 2% avain DNA and 98% human DNA. All six have been recused by one of the scientists only to have him up and disappear leaving all of them alone and putting Max in charge. Then out of the blue people who have been genetically altered with wolf DNA come after them to take them back to the labs where they were pricked and prodded on. You think they are going to go back easily? Then you my friend are wrong.

Another great thing about this book is that it has moments that just make you laugh and smile with humor. I mean the way they treat each other is like the way siblings tease and argue. I mean just read this and experience it for yourself.

"Max!” Nudge cried, rushing over to hug me. Her thin arms gripped me tight, and I hugged her back, scratching her wings where they joined her shoulders, the way she liked. “We were so worried—I didn’t know what had happened to you, and we didn’t know what to do, and Fang said we going to eat rats, and—"
“Okay, okay. Everything’s okay,” I told her. I met Fang’s eyes over her shoulder and mouthed Rats? silently. A flicker of a grin crossed his lips and then was gone."

If that doesn't define sibling relationships then what does? Another thing on the list is how the characters within the book can say some of the most meaningful things without meaning to. I mean its like having life lessons in disguise or something.

"Because what’s worse than knowing you want something, besides knowing you can never have it?"

All together this book is like a perfect symphony with each part working together to make the song playing perfect. I mean there is action, laughter, and life lessons. What else could you ask for? ...more
