What Members Thought

Trigger Warnings: violence (pretty gory), discrimination (racism, ableism, classism, etc.), PTSD, haphephobia (fear of touching others), mentions of rape/sexual assault
[Matthias] “One day you’ll run out of tricks, demjin.”
Kaz:

Okay, what do I say so that Yumiko doesn’t attack me?
Let’s start off with something simple. I loved this. Not as much as I thought I would (don’t kill me bitch) but I did love it.
I was expecting more after the hype, for which I also blame Yumiko.

Six of crows has left me
SIX OF DEAD!!
What was this madness? My brain cannot comprehend it.

The plot, the twists, the characters. Oh my gosh this was SO MUCH better than my first read, if that’s even possible!🙀
“If you aren’t born with every advantage, you learn to take your chances.”
And that’s exactly what they do. The Dregs, a bunch of outcasts and misfits band together to pull of an impossible task.

(book TWs: sexual, emotional, verbal, physical abuse; lots of death, blood, prison, genocide, burning someone alive, drowning.)
do you ever read a book that is so stunning that it makes all your other reads pale in comparison??i feel like i should move every rating down a notch if THIS is only 5 stars.

(1.4 star, DNF'd 234 pages in) Here we go. I had to find my notes for this.
I originally rated this a two star, but in the seven minutes since I've put down my rating I've been thinking about other books I've rated two stars and why I rated them two stars and realized that this needed to be bumped down.
First of all, the characters. I was not interested in any of them. They all had the same sort of outline. They're fleeing from some kind of dark past and they all ended up in the same place that ...more

No Mourners, No Funerals
This is now one of my favorite books, no words can describe how much I love this book. Thinking of this book brings me so much joy, and I think about it a lot since I think about it. AHH I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH, I AM GIDDY!
The plot, the twist, the characters, all of it was perfect! I want to be in the Dregs, but we all know I have no criminal talents. All of the characters add som ...more

Besides, she was the Wraith- the only law that applied to her was gravity, and some days, she defied that, too.
Jesper always felt better when people were shooting at him.
The water hears and understands. The ice does not forgive.
Stay, stay till the end. And after, and always

January 2021
I have just finished reading this masterpiece. Am I broken? Yes. Can I wait 'till I can read 'Crooked Kingdom'? No. This book is really hyped but it's a super great work, I wasn't able to put it down. I liked that we could see what each character thought and the plot... wow!!
"I will have you without armor, Kaz Brekker. Or I will not have you at all."
The relationship between Kaz and Inej was so pure, I loved it. Their love was everything in this book, I ...more

i absolutely adored this book. as my first read of 2021 my expectations were high and i can safely say that they have been met. this book has been sat on my shelf for a while now and i have tried reading it a few times (only a chapter or so) but i just couldnt get into it at all due to so many name drops and info dumps in the first few pages . however soon my heart had been won over by dirtyhands and his gang. all of the characters were so well thought out and somehow i loved every single one. i

Buddy read at the very end of October - November with 12 (?) maybe 13 other chaotic people in which I'm too lazy to link here. Sorry, my amazing chaotic friends.
Okay. Sooooooo for all those people who will come at me when you read this next sentence, READ BOTH SENTENCES. I liked this book, but I was a little bit disappointed. I think it was because I had such high hopes, and though I really really loved this book, it wasn't my favorite thing ever. I was hoping it would be one of my fa ...more

Totally deserves all the hype! I loved the actions and didn't find it slow at all! (This could be due to the fact that I'm just getting back into fantasy, and I'm honestly just used to reading contemporary.) I also thought that all the characters were super realistic and well developed. I personally loved Nina, and thought she was amazing. (I didn't like Kaz that much but this seems to be an unpopular opinion.) I also loved the way that this book switched between past and present, since it felt
