Shelves: fantasy, dystopia

Liked the style, but can't say that I liked much else. The plot, after taking quite some time to make itself known, took disappointing turns considering what I most enjoyed about the opening pages.

Unsure if I'll read the sequel anytime in the next year (or at all) , but I'll keep an eye out for other works by Muir. ...more

Extremadamente irreverente, Gideon es una lesbiana, y eso no es relevante a su trama, porque no hay un romance en esta trama. Pero es relevante a la narración, porque Gideon es lesbiana, igual que es irreverente, fuerte, luchadora y muy malhablada. En resumen: Sólo por Gideon ya vale la pena leer este libro. Pero no sólo por una protagonista genial adoré este libro.

This story felt so 'told', sometimes going too fast and just glossing over the years and sometimes taking forever with details and description, without any worry about structure or pacing somehow.
I have better books to read, so I'll probably DNF this. ...more
