Christopher Pike is great at twisted plots, and Fall Into Darkness more than delivers on that front. It kept me guessing until about halfway through. I was indifferent to the courtroom drama and creepy lawyer aspect of it. My favorite scenes were the ones from Ann’s perspective. I think he really nailed an archetype with Chad’s “nice guy” character. There was nothing too supernatural or weird about it, which I suppose is what made it easy to adapt to a made-for-TV movie. Yep, it's that time again. It's a new month and thankfully things lined up so I could have this month's edition of my Pike Quest out early. This time the randomizer takes us to 1990. Pike had made more of a name for himself by that point. He wasn't in as full churn mode yet but it was getting there. So this falls in the rough middle I suppose.

The only thing I knew about this is that it actually got a TV movie in 1996, making his first work to be adapted. And it would be his last until 2013 with

First Pike book I have ever read. The hype surrounding the author seem to be true after my first outing. Looking forward to exploring more of his work.

Eh. Like a combination of Gimme a Kiss and Last Act. I wanted more wacky villains and less courtroom drama. The setting in the woods was cool and I wish had been explored further.
