What Members Thought
Quite possibly the worst Pike book and one of his early ones. A boring murder mystery with a :shocker: happy ending. It’s a typical teen novel for the first 100 pages and then things finally get going.
This one has some bad dude writing, and it took way too many pages to explain who the bad guy was and why, but the mystery was fun.

Read this one for an episode of The PikeCast!
This was one of Pike's early works. I liked it, but didn't love it. It needed streamlining and simplification. There's the trace of a good shorter novel in here. The first half could have been cut by 75% and a lot of the dialogue needed a second pass during the editing phase.
The plot is a fair play whodunnit, which is a bit unusual for Pike. The setting is vividly described.
