I read a lot by thus author when I was a kid, so it is kind of fun to go back and see just how trashy these books can be.
This once includes the following:
Girl hate
Anorexia framed as appealing
Disfigurement as unsettling
Ugly face talk
Saying you're bad at dating if you haven't been on one in 6 weeks
Food/fat shaming
Asking someone "Did you enjoy being assaulted?"
9 year olds talking about sex and drinking alcohol
Fatphobia ...more

It’s Christopher Pike, and I’m an 80’s kid, so this is an automatic FIVE STAR. It’s so fantastically, wonderfully bad and so much fun - you just gotta read it.
I found out today that this is his first book, which explains things. His later books (especially Weekend and Die Softly) are more tightly written. But are they as fun? Nah...

Better than his other book Weekend. Still a ton of characters but easier to follow and more suspenseful.
