Well, here we are. I started these monthly Pike reviews to lead up to the Midnight Club series coming soon. I always planned to end of Midnight Club itself so we are finally here. I already knew the plot of it due to gleaming other reviews so I wasn't shocked by what this ended up being like. You know from my reviews I've had a mixed time with these since they are often long and not exactly super fun.

I was hoping this could give me the really good one I wanted...and I actually got it. I had a f

I rated this based on my enjoyment. The original sick lit before The Fault in Our Stars and Five Feet Apart. It’s basically all stories with no plot and very very sad. I did like that Christopher Pike finally put his real name in the book as the character of Kevin instead of just imbuing himself into the main character. It was fantastical in a way that elevated the story and fit the underlying spiritual themes. I am sure similar places exist, but I don’t think they’re in castles by the sea where d ...more

I don't know how I missed this one when I was a kid, but I did. I'm actually glad I did. This was.....not his best work. I actually enjoyed the story behind why he wrote this book more than I did the "stories" the kids tell. Some of them are just really out there in a cringy way.
I thought I might check out the Netflix series, and I wanted to read the book first.
