I anticipated rich descriptions that would transport me to the countryside of open skies and cornfields. There is a lot of traveling and a lot of knowledge shared in the 10 days that this book takes place.
The characters are all well written, with Billy being my personal favorite, followed closely by Ulysses.
I learned more facts about the physical Lincoln Highway than I ever knew existed!
I also think we will see this one on many lists of favorite books for a very long time.

I think this is probably more of a 3.5 but I can't quite round up to a 4. I see why this has been such a popular read lately. There are some fantastically developed characters. I tend to dislike books where I have to keep track of multiple characters but in this case, the story keeps building with each add. The writing is good, but I thought it was kind of slow. I’m not a fan of jumping around each character’s perspective, especially when there are random characters introduced along the way. Not my favorite read.
