You'll be silent forever, and I'll be gone in the dark.
It was hard for me to pick a best book of the year. I’ve read a lot of great stuff and am in the middle of some strong contenders. However, I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara sticks out for me not only for its fascinating true crime elements, but also for being a portrait into the life of a woman that I feel I could’ve known and probably been friends with.
