The reviews were good, and readers said that it wasn't written with unbearably complex sentences like many science books. I figured it was a great book to start with to see if nonfiction was something I am willing to read.

Before I started the book, I had the expectation that it would drone on and I would take forever to finish because it would go so slow. The book wasn't like that at all! I'm just beginning my journey in nonfiction reading, and that says a lot! The author didn't write with long, confusing words, and spoke in a way that was easy to comprehend. In my opinion, it wasn't boring at all. It changed the way I look at trees along with other plants, and it taught me so many interesting things I never knew ...more
