I am always aware that I am reading a good book when I know I should be putting it down and getting on with other things but I just keep reading anyway! The Whisper Man is one of those books. I finished it in a day.

I think this is the book where I realized that I really enjoy reading thrillers. If a thriller is well told, it can be the most pleasant of reading experiences! ‘The Whisper Man’ was just that!

This book had no problem gripping my attention, I got right into it. It in no way slowed down and, most importantly, it kept me wanting to turn the page to see what was going to happen next! I thought this definitely lived up to the hype--at least, it did for me. A great mix of horror (ghosts), crime, and mystery-thriller. I didn't see the villain coming; it took me a few minutes to figure it out even after the defining clues were presented. I didn't see the other twists, as well (and there are a few). I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would. I thought it was more of a mystery/serial killer type book. Started out really spooky, got very interesting but ended as nothing special.

Bad stuff happens to kids for a few generations. A little boy copes with the support of the ghosts of those who love him.

I think part of the issue is my own imagination lead to a nightmare when listening to this book and that nightmare surpassed this ending.
