Brilliant book, both a great insight into this area and race relation problems, but also a really funny read at times. Although some of the white women in the book are awful to the extreme in the way they tread the women who should be their closest allies as they "BRING UP THEIR CHIILDREN and SHARE THEIR LIFES", I could not help feeling sorry for them too. The HELPs are heroines and to manage to still be honest, loving and so,so giving was to me - the essence of female (although I could not take
