I was anxious to read The Night Watchman. I had read most of Louise Erdrich's books and thought they were really well written. The Night Watchman didn't disappoint. It takes place primarily in North Dakota at the Turtle Mountain Reservation. Some of the story happens in the Twin Cities of Minnesota.

I first heard of Louise Erdrich in high school, my English teacher loved her books. I can't remember if I read one of them then or not...it's been 20+ years...but maybe The Beet Queen?
