A quarter of the way in you know what awaits Achilles, and yet I kept hoping for a different outcome. The storytelling was superb, a very endearing read indeed.

This is perfect. It is soft and lyrical and sharp and cruel. And so, so beautiful.

It was very difficult for me to rate this book so low especially since I love Circe so much. However, I felt like this story lacked a certain something that Circe did have which was interesting characterization. It's all from the perspective of Patroclus, an awkward, young prince who, despite being exiled, has found solace being raised along side another young prince, Achilles. Patroclus has always been in love with Achilles, and Achilles does return Patroclus or at the very least doesn't reject
