Wow. This felt like I was reading it for the first time, because I only ever read the first two books, and that was SO many years ago. I'm not sure why I waited so long. I thought I wouldn't be able to appreciate it since I waited so long and am now technically just reading it for the first time at 26, but I fully enjoyed it. I absolutely love and adore Harry Potter! Sorry. It had to be said. No, but seriously I do. I first bought Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at my school's Scholastic book fair when I was in 5th grade. I remember that they were having a buy one, get one free sale and I went there with the sole intention of finding another Party of Five book told from Claudia's perspective (I had bought one of those at a previous book fair and loved it. Fifth reread. Clever and fun. I’d forgotten quite how much I love Harry Potter. Rereading the series this fall to break my COVID book slump and revisit old loves.
I think I’m enjoying it more because I’m familiar with how it plays out. It’s fun to catch glimpses of scenes that had left impressions on me and reflect on how I view them now.
