About halfway through The Deathly Hallows and I wanted to read Philosopher's Stone.
Very sweet. The Dursleys are much more prominent and I completely missed out on the physical abuse Harry went through, that he was punched so many times by Dudley his glasses are taped together, or that he has naturally learned to duck from sudden motions. Hermione is also much more of a know-it-all in this book, and love her growth that it's not all about learning but also good vibes. Ron and Hermione were set up ...more

Harry Potter saved the day. I enjoyed this quick read. Especially, since this was Harry Potter's first Christmas at Hogwarts. He received the love, presents, concern, family, and friendship he so desperately wanted and deserved.
Proofing is value and worth on the Quidditch team as a seeker made him a hero. Saving the school from Voldermort made him a legend. Fairy tales are good to read at Christmas time when the good guys win. You know there is hope in this world.
