This book was read to my 5th grade class when I was little and I was never one who was into fantasy or really reading (I sucked at it). So I never continued the series and just watched the movies when they came out. I am happy to say that it has been a long enough time that I barely remember what happened so I have started reading the series myself. I enjoyed this first installment and it brought back many memories for me.

This is probably the 10th time reading The Philosopher’s Stone ,but the first reading it as an audiobook , and I’m sorry so say that I didn’t enjoy the experience too much. It’s true that this first book is my least favorite ,but the problem here was definitely the narrator. It felt so wrong to hear a story about a bunch of 11 years old told by a man of 40+. This was such a sweet book. I had never watched the movies or participated in conversation about Harry Potter so I had absolutely no idea what to expect from this book. I had a few friends tell me I needed to read it in a very short time span so I figured I'd give in and see what all the hype was about. I can see how it would be very popular for younger kids.
