This might just be the single most contrived story I've ever read. It's roots in Fangirl make it so. Yet it manages through all of the pains Rainbow Rowell takes (wink, wink, wink, nudge, nudge) to show that it is most assuredly not a piece of Harry Potter / Draco Malfoy slash fic to become an amusing little tale in it's own right, and of it's own type, independent of it's ties. Yes, I know I've never read Fangirls and no, I didn't know that I should have read that first.

THIS BOOK WAS WHAT DARRY HARRY POTTER SHIPPERS WOULD HAVE LOVED!!!!
I love the way Rainbow Rowell writes with such rawness. One example of this is (view spoiler)
Everything about this book screams Harry Potter without trying to, and i would say that this is the best element of the book.
