This book suffered from Different Expectations Syndrome. I was expecting a mind-twisting courtroom mystery along the lines of Witness for the Prosecution. It’s really a literary contemporary. That’s among my least favorite genres, so 3 stars from me would elicit 5 stars from anyone who is a fan of that genre.

Miracle Creek is quite an interesting blend of the literary and work of suspense that keeps you wondering what it was that happened in the case of the deaths of some of the characters within this piece. The story itself follows Pak and Young Yoo, who are Korean immigrants that operate a HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) and a miracle submarine. These are forms of oxygen therapy that are supposed to help Autistic patients and arguably cure them. At one such meeting, the oxygen tank catche ...more
