This is a quicker read than some others. I liked the structure of different stories and points of view leading to a big picture of who one character really is. It also takes you through many more modern eras and how the black expense varied in each.

Having read and been in awe of several of Toni Morrison's books, I was anxious to read this one. I was very disappointed in this one. It didn't reach the brilliance of her other books and just shared much of the confusion. I had difficulty following it and often found myself wondering which of the characters she was quoting or writing about.

Fabulous read - Ms. Morrison's books always haunt me at completion. This one did not disappoint. Beautiful book!
