I read this book for the Goodreads' Book Club: Diversity in All Forms!
This book was extremely good and heartbreaking! I learned so much and I encourage others to read this book.

I absolutely love books in verse!

This was such a heart breaking story, especially if you are like me and have read a lot of books on this topic and I just knew what was going to happen and she is so naiive in her youth and it really is heartbreaking that this is the truth for so many girls.

Great story but a sad one! Easy quick read!

This is the story of an Indian girl from a remote village who is sold by her impoverished family and taken far from her home where she is forced into a life of prostitution and degradation.

This book is intended for a Young Adult audience and does a great job of not bogging the story down with statistics.

All teenagers need to read this book and to become aware that these things are actually happening right now.

This is a book that promotes empathy and knowledge about issues as important and hard to talk about as sex slavery. It was definitely an emotional roller-coaster, but an emotional roller-coaster is what you need when discussing issues as this. This book gave me a deep sense of hopelessness, but it nonetheless showed me how dangerous it is to be a young teenaged girl and how important it is to share this awareness with the world, despite how difficult it is to talk about.
