DNF @ p44 I applied the Pearl Rule: Read 50pp, or 50-(how many years you are over 50)pp.

Due back at the library tomorrow and I just can't.

Nice writing, but I am not blown away the way so many are. I'm sure it's me. If, in future, the Kindle edition goes on sale, I'll buy it (IF it's under $3.99) but I have fewer eyeblinks ahead than I'd need to cram this bad boy into my skull.

I listened to and finished this quite a while ago, but have balked at reviewing it because I think audio is not the best format for experiencing There, There. I really liked the narration and production, but this book follows twelve Native Americans who live in Oakland, California and that was just too many people to keep track of in audio. I really, really loved this book. Wow. I think I will want to read it again. It isn’t a subject I’ve read much about. I think I will hunt some more Native American reads as a result so yes, it is thought provoking and challenging. I’d love to learn more.
