Without getting into too many details this book has a great reflection to my own personal history and I didn't really know that this was the topic of discussion in this novel so it took me back a little and I almost considered delaying the reading of this book because it is a definite "trigger" book for anyone who deals with depression, cutting, eating disorders etc...

I had no idea this book was written in loosely formed poetry when I ordered it from the library, though I guess that's standard for this author? That said, parts of that choice were cool and enhanced the atory and other times, it really made the book drag on and on and on. The gross dysfunction in the family is shocking and at times seriously disturbing, and though it seems others were surprised by the plot twist, I had sort of caught on and was not at all shocked/was more glad the book was almo
