'There are truths we face and truths we ignore". This book read like a casual conversation. She explained where she is from and what she went through to become the person she is. I hope she writes a follow up in years to come.

I had to sit on this for a few days after reading this to really process it. It was VERY insightful, full of tidbits I didn't know about the Obamas and what they've gone through in their lives (from college to various employments and non-profits to infertility, to running for office, and the world-changer of being in the White House and all the upheaval that entails). I think it is almost impossible not to enjoy this book. I really enjoyed the inside peek into the White House life, but I also LOVED hearing about her early life, how she met Barack, her family and education, and the initiatives she took on as the first lady. So good. Her narration was also excellent and I highly recommend the audiobook - it is not a short book, but it held my interest throughout.
