What Members Thought
A really beautiful and uniquely written memoir- presented both as a YA book, an autobiography, and poetry all wrapped into one semi-linear story, I really enjoyed Woodson's Brown Girl Dreaming. The only reason I'm not giving it a five star review is that I felt like the verse itself was weak in its diction quite a bit- that may have been intentional, as it is written as a children's book, but the poetry is so narrative and straightforward that oftentimes, imagery is lost/ what I love best about
