I found this book absolutely riveting. History + Science is not my idea of a riveting book, but this was absolutely fascinating and full of drama. I had no idea that for many years, radium was considered to be some kind of 'wonder chemical' that would cure all kinds of ailments and the women were told

Well, this book was just unbelievably horrible. I mean when it got to the point where the company sent in doctors and got positive results that their products were making the workers sick AND THEN FIRED ONE FOR BEING SICK years after they knew what was going on was beyond unscrupulous. It’s so hard to believe people existed that would do that.
