I enjoyed this book so much. It was like a seven layer cake, it just kept revealing itself, layer after layer. So funny and so smart and so much going on it's almost impossible to describe. At one point early in the book the situation seemed pretty dismal but then another layer presented itself and there were so many more to go. Just delightful--even though the end, the very last page was a tiny bit hinky--and that's a reference to the book. One of the best reads I've had in a long time. ...more

Shelves: 2015, audiobook

There were parts of this book that I found a bit tiring, but I think that was just because I was rooting for the good people and not the gnats (haha). It was a charming read and interesting take on what goes on inside others' minds and lives. I enjoyed the audiobook but I think I would have enjoyed the text as well. Great characters!! ...more
