I loved this. Thick intellectual sarcasm from 100 years ago. SIGN ME UP!!

This is hilarious. I tried to read Woolf one other time and it made no sense to me whatsoever. I’m so glad that I tried this one. I would have loved to see her give one of these lectures. The tone would have made it even better.

BRILLIANT. Woolf is funny and smart and so damn on point. This didn't feel dated in the slightest, which does not say much for the progress we have made. If women don't have the advantage of a place and money to be creative, their creativity can't take place. Literature is as affected by gendered roles in society as any other undertaking. A woman may be as brilliant and imaginative as any man, but if she has no solitude or freedom, it cannot be expressed. Woolf lays out the problem in blunt and ...more
