“Another secret of the universe: Sometimes pain was like a storm that came out of nowhere. The clearest summer could end in a downpour. Could end in lightning and thunder.”
I enjoyed this book! I really liked it a lot. I felt like it was raw and real and beautifully written. There were several times that I had to just set it down and think about what was happening. Those "wow" moments. I teared up several times as well, this book is certainly emotional.

Beautiful story about two boys friendship in high school. They are both Mexican and they struggle with their sexuality. The parents in this book were very understanding and supportive.

I'd never before watched an action movie that felt like it was written for me as a woman, produced for me as a woman, meant for me as a woman, and all of that completely unapologetically. I realized how truly important it is to see reflections of yourself out in the world. I'd long thought that was important in theory but sweet b ...more
