When this book came out, I was fired up about it, recommended it widely (probably a bit unwisely, too), and then...well...nothing.
Nine stories, all uniformly well crafted, and today I can tell you nothing about any of them except I loved Mr. Kapasi in the title story. The Das couple who interrogated him made a less favorable impression...what I recall is how revoltingly selfish they were, how charmingly Mr. Kapasi dealt with them, and that is that. It's been twenty-two years and that's it.
