I know a lot of you guys loved this book, but it turned out to be just meh for me. It had it's moments and kept me up late last night, but I had a hard time suspending disbelief with this one. I don't know why.

I listened to the audio version. The audio is good. It's short and only about 8 hours. The narrator does a good job, but the book translated into a Lifetime Movie via audio for me. It might be better to read a hardcopy of it.

Thank you to Lisa for recommending it to me. :). She loved the bo

4.5 stars!!! The fact that this book doesn't go into great detail of what exactly Jack intends to is scarier than if it had been described. The mind games were eerie!! Riveting from beginning to end. I get why this book has gotten so much hype. ...more

I read this book for the Diversity in All Forms Goodreads' Book club. If you are interested in participating in the discussion here is the link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

This book was fantastic! I read more than half of it in two days. It is one of those books that sucks you in immediately.

What if your life completely changed for the worst after allowing someone new into it? That is what happened to Grace. She met Jack; a handsome lawyer with a lot of wealth. He was perfect and wa

I was thinking this was a case of the controlling, abusive husband so when I found out what kind of guy he really was, I was shocked. This story does well with the suspense. As I got closer and closer to the end, I wasn't sure how she was going to figure a way out. He always seemed to be at least one step ahead. Both characters are intelligent with the head games. I definitely recommend this to readers that like a bit of psycho in their thriller. ...more

"That's the trouble, you see. The nearer I get to having what I've been waiting for for so long, the more I crave it. It's got to the point where I'm tired of waiting."

Received an arc copy at BEA Chicago 2016!!!

Anyone in a loving relationship that wants to call it quits over a tiny argument or a disagreement have no idea how good they have it. Something as minuscule as spilt milk and you have to think what others are going through. If you have someone in your life that treats you well and sh

Would have been 4.5 but the motive for the villain isn’t really working for me, especially because of his position. Not entirely sure why otherwise but didn’t really feel like the real thing. 3.5 stars rounded up.

I know we’re supposed to dislike the parents for not wanting to take care of Grace and Millie, but they’re of retirement age, and most of it is assumed (since we’re reading Grace’s POV). Also, it doesn’t look good when Grace guilts them into having another kid when they were obviously u

What a fantastic psychological thriller! This first time author knows just how to keep the reader on the edge of her seat! Page turner all the way. Original plot and solid writing. The story was very well thought out by the author, with just a little foreshadowing to keep you guessing. Without giving the story away with details, my only negative was that in parts it seemed a bit unrealistic, but I forgive her for those parts since the overall feeling was just chilling. I was impressed how the au ...more

So good!!

I had a really hard time putting this one down, and only did because I was falling asleep while trying to read it.
I thought it was going to be your typical abuse story and that is probably why I delayed reading it so long. However, it was nothing like that. Jack was all mental and in a way that was even harder to read. The fear and devastation oozed through the pages. I loved the ending too, the author did a really good job of building up the fear of things to come and satisfied us wi
