In total transparency, I needed a quick read to round out my 50th book of the year to meet my reading goal. This was a beautifully written and clear definition of feminism and why we should all be proud to call ourselves and *BE* feminists. This is definitely worth reading. It draws attention to certain things. The author is from Africa and a lot of what it is about is there. Reading it and letting it soak in as a good way to make a conscious effort going forward. I think this is at least as much for a man to read as a woman. Some of it is about little things a man can do and acknowledge.

This didn't really provide me with anything new but damn can Chimamanda write! Her style is straightforward and engaging and this would have been a fantastic speech to hear. However, I'm not sure it was really worth being published in its own book. ...more
