In this novel, the author writes a fictional story about a historical event, the moving of orphans/abandoned children from the over populated eastern cities to the mid-west in hopes of giving them more opportunities and new lives. The focus of the work brings one of those children from the past to the present day, a woman in her 90's and a troubled teen in the system, together. I know this wasn't a book for everyone, but I just got sucked into it and wouldn't let go. I got through this book so fast. Vivian and Molly just go on this journey together. Vivian I feel is a symbol for hope for Molly considering what she went through with all the "homes" if you can call them that, and that both of them finally found a home/family with each other. I would really like to see this made into a film possibly,(SPOILERS!!!)... but the molesting scene was really hard for me to get th
