A surprisingly fast read that held me right from the beginning.

A thoroughly enjoyable tale of a time in history that actually happened. The Author does a terrific job of bringing the details to life.
I would give this book ten stars if I could. I loved it so much!

Nicely written and although covers some painful topics,does it gently enough to keep reading it a pleasure. Never knew this part of history, an important piece. Sometimes a heavy topic handled lightly is just right. This works.

What a great story! A part of history visited that I knew not much about. Was interested in reading this novel after reading "The Chaperone" which spoke of the orphan trains. Highly recommend this book for realistic/historical fiction fans.
