My first thought after finishing The Halloween Tree is that it should be a Halloween tradition in the same way A Christmas Carol by Dickens is a Christmas tradition. They are both stories of how characters have forgotten the meaning of the season and the mysterious supernatural spirits that help them find it again. I struggled a lot with how this book was written, because of that I had a hard time following alone with what was going on.

I plan on watching the movie though, and I hope I enjoy that wayyy more!

“When you reach the stars, boy, yes, and live there forever, all the fears will go, and Death himself will die.”

Bradbury knows how to set that spooky atmosphere for a spine-tingling roller coaster of a book. This will always be a classic gem and perfect for spooky adventurers. ♥

A group of boys set out to make the most out of their favorite holiday are in for a real treat when they travel back in time to when Halloween all started. The story is fast-paced and spans hundreds of years across multiple countries to show how it’s been celebrated and how it has evolved through time. Read it with the kids – they’ll ask a lot of questions that will surely have you researching deeper into the making of this deliciously spooky holiday.
