I was listening to it on audio CD and had a lot of problems with it, so I needed to take many day breaks in-between listening…. so I got a little behind!

It really took me a while to get into this. I don't think this is really a book to race through as it plays out more as a series of escalating events so you can read one of these 'episodes' and happily put it down for a while.

At first I was a bit put off by the language. There are a lot of 60s American coloquialisms that I didn't understand plus your usual dose of racism and sexism that is inherent in many books of this era. This also slowed down the book for me at the start but the paced picked

Such a great Classic!!

I originally saw this movie a long time ago I am thinking it must have been like 10 years ago by now, but I had never read the book, and because I tend to not read a book after I have seen the movie I kept debating on it until I finally had a challenge where it would be useful for me to read it.
