I was very interested in this book after hearing rave reviews. Perhaps they influenced me too strongly, or I've just taken in far too many zombie stories, because The Girl With All the Gifts disappointed me.
It's essentially a zombie novel. It's decently written and has a few ideas, one which seems interesting in the subgenre. But that's not enough to justify 420+ pages, and the thing never leaves the genre reservation.

wow!

This book has a fresh and interesting take on the dystopian zombie fiction. Avoid if you do not like zombies or are tired of zombies but otherwise it should be a fun read!
