Shelves: 1-star, won-t-bother-with-the-series

I didn't start out hating this. It was a very quick read, and I liked it well enough. I just found an email to my sister from right after I finished (hence my decision to post a review): "Bella was kind of a mess, and needs some self-confidence building courses... and I'm not too sure about a relationship built on 'Gee, you smell delicious!' Stephenie Meyer tiene una pluma muy cuidada, incluso leyéndolo 10 años después, siento que uno se puede enamorar de esta historia por la forma en que está escrito, la ambientación y las diferentes historias que se van entrelazando.

Lo único que sí siento que está mal y me causa cierta repulsión, es ver a Bella tan desesperada por Edward, incluso en los momentos en que no debería y todo porque se lo quiere comer, ...more

I can't believe I read this faster than I thought I would. I loved it, of course. It's the second time I read it, the first one I was 14 I think, so now, having a new perspective and more maturity...I did find some issues that I just can't conceive. My 14 year old self was over the moon with this story and this characters and, in a way, I still am. I just can't turn a blind eye to some sexist issues that are clearly between the pages. I love this series and I will continue to read it, just hope ...more

There are many reasons that this book only gets three stars. Most of those reasons involve the stupid one liners (the lion and the lamb one, for example) that the author put in the book to make it more appealing to the teen audience. If I was a teen reading this, I still wouldn't like the one liners.

The only reason I read the book is because I liked the movie. Both have their strengths - I like having the background information on the characters that is not given in the movie while the movie cut ...more

I have heard a lot of negative and positive things about this book. I originally wasnt going to read it because it didnt seem like something I would like. I finally got to reading it and I couldnt put it down. I absolutely loved this book. I cant wait to read the next one.
