I’ve been making an effort to read more graphic novels; they are not an easy form for me. This one felt like it was an important read and it was. What struck me the most was in the introduction to the last of the stories where the author (after opening my eyes to the idea that “Indigenous peoples have been living in a post-apocalyptic world since Contact”) takes the reader to a future that moves beyond the dystopian and to a time and place of resilience, renewal, strength and hope.
