I was... impressed with this book, but not completely wowed. Yes, I know my rating for this book is completely misleading, I know.

I don't even know why. There was a time in my life when I was obsessed with dystopias, and while I'm not as obsessed with them as I once was, I still love them. But I... didn't love Legend?

It fell a little flat of the hype for me. Just a little bit. The plot was just your average Joe, girl is rich while boy is criminal, meet, fall in love, bad things happ *4.5 stars

I don't even know why. There was a time in my life when I was obsessed with dystopias, and while I'm not as obsessed with them as I once was, I still love them. But I... didn't love Legend?

It fell a little flat of the hype for me. Just a little bit. The plot was just your average Joe, girl is rich while boy is criminal, meet, fall in love, bad things happen WHILE they fall in love, then something dramatic happens in the end which causes them to run away, leaving us on a cliffhanger for the next book.

It's not like the world was the most original either, though, but I liked it a good amount. Like always, it's a dystopian America where there are two warring groups and we live in the group that's *supposedly* good, but is really bad and there are government plots to kill off our characters. The technologies and everything as well.

Of course, the girl and the boy are the most special people in the world. Already, like, three different boys like her at this point. Their super attractive. But I do like the characters, though. June's a badass girl who doesn't need anyone to tell her what to do. She can do that all on her own. I love June, and I love Day. Day's blond, handsome, and sarcastic. The holy trinity in what I look for in a book boyfriend (well it's either this or messy black hair with sassy personalities). Am I just *slightly* in love with Day? An understatement. I'm COMPLETELY in love with Day, and I want to be June's partner in crime and best friend.

Romance is a big aspect of this book. I'm a sucker for a good romance, but June and Day felt a bit instalove at the end of the day. They didn't even know each other's names and they were in love! Obviously, life can't be easy for the main characters of a dystopian. There's three more books in the series, so I'm holding out for a good love story between my babies June and Day.

Maybe this is hypocritical of me since I can't even count on all my fingers and toes the times I've loved a trashy dystopian romance. But I have to admit, I was slightly let down by Legend. I was going into it with high expectations, and the book fell a little short.

But you know what really matters in a book? It really doesn't matter if the story's annoying or trashy or confusing or anything. What matters is how much you enjoyed it, and I enjoyed Legend very much. That's probably why it got the 4.5 stars. It was fun and enjoyable to read, and I'm excited to see how June and Day's adventure goes in book #2.

I have heard that the story gets more and more unique as time goes on, so I definitely am going and am excited about reading the next book. Fingers crossed it's a good sequel (sequels aren't my thing though; I usually hate them and love the third book instead :)
