Perhaps it has been too long since I read the first book in the series. I felt this was missing the “magic” I expected to find. Oh, there’s lots of magic going on, but not necessarily the kind that keeps me engaged and fascinated by the plot and characters.
Nevada and Rogan’s relationship felt forced to me. Perhaps it is because Rogan is such an unknown. Or because Nevada is such a strong, independent woman. I don’t know. Or maybe this book is just missing that certain…magic.
