I haven't read a historical romance in forever. I was in the mood and couldn't remember reading this one. I really enjoyed it and am going to read another historical that I don't remember. Kleypas is "go to" for me. Some of her books I re-read so many times I can recite them. She has officially broken my book funk!
Oh, and to top it off, we get two romances in this one!

The first 4 chapters are a prologue of sorts giving the reader a background on McKenna & Aline. Their love was of young innocent & totally forbidden since they were of different social classes.
Chapter 5 jumps to 12 years later. McKenna comes back from America for what he initial idea of revenge & to show Aline & her family that he has made a name for himself even without his social class standings.

Wow! Wow! My first historical romance and I think I’m smitten! This book was exquisite! The double story lines was great. If one romance isn’t enough Lisa made sure to fill your cup! McKenna McKenna my GOD you are amazing! Aline I wanted to smack sometimes... I mean come on your gonna keep all these secrets, just freakin tell him! Ugh sooo good! I can’t wait to read more of Lisa’s books!
