I have no idea where to begin. Why are the books that touch you the most such a challenge to review? The best word I can conjure right now to describe my reaction to The Siren is wooed. I decided to read this book wondering if I would be able to stomach the kink and the plural love shapes I had heard of. Those two were the least of my problems. What pulled me utterly and completely apart was, ultimately, the all-consuming emotion. And a never-ending empathy towards Nora Sutherlin. Maybe ...more

What a beautiful wreck of a man.

This is one of the most difficult reviews I have ever written. There were so many parts of this book that were very, very good. There were a few issues that I really had to think about before I wrote this. I will warn you, though, that if you consider yourself to be Catholic, as I am and have been my entire life, then there are things that might disturb you in this book. So far I am not impressed. Of course it is a little dark for my taste. I also think it jumps back and forth too much. I have a feeling I won't finish it, but I am going to give the ole college try.

Update after finishing:
It just didn't go a whole lot for me. The scenes were written heavy on the violence, light on the romance. I am not into the BDSM scene enough to have enjoyed it. ...more
