I put this in the alpha category for Nora. Although Soren has definitely peaked my interest... that elevator scene at the club... whew ;) I loved that this is smart and interesting. BDSM for the thinking girl :) There was some intense stuff in here. Anxious to read the next two books as I hear they only get better. Tiffany Reisz is pretty amazing.

So before starting this book, I read mixed reviews. Some people loved it and others despised it. You have to be a dark erotica fan to enjoy this one. Anyone borderline will find this book offensive and over-rated. I myself, am kind of in the middle. I’m not an overly religious person, but I do believe in God, and I was pretty taken back by Soren’s character. He was not what I envisioned at all. Even though he was pretty controlling when it came to Nora, he really did love the woman completely. A So before starting this book, I read mixed reviews. Some people loved it and others despised it. You have to be a dark erotica fan to enjoy this one. Anyone borderline will find this book offensive and over-rated. I myself, am kind of in the middle. Even though he was pretty controlling when it came to Nora, he really did love the woman completely. And, he never ever hurt a child. Children seemed to embrace him physically as well as emotionally. Nora and Soren’s relationship began at a young age, and I wasn’t too thrilled with her final decision at the end of the book. The novel ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger because the reader doesn’t know what the outcome will be for Nora and Soren’s relationship. The second installment I hope will answer that question for me. While I wasn’t too happy with Soren’s character, I did love some of the side characters. Wesley was a sweetheart. His feelings for Nora were real and actually painful to read about. Was she stringing him along or were her feelings also genuine?? And, Zach, did he really feel himself falling for Nora or was it just a rebound type relationship when him and his wife were at a crossroads with theirs??

I’m not going to get into what the book is really about because so many people have read and reviewed it, and I would only be rehashing the synopsis yet again. But, I will say this book did pique my interest since it’s so popular. Plus the entire series is released so I didn’t have to deal with any cliffhangers. Did I like it? Yes and no. I did like Nora’s feisty attitude and humor. I did like the premise of her being an erotica novel writer. And, I did like that there were some buried secrets between this cast of characters. I didn’t like it because I was a bit squimish with some of the scenes. I’m not a prude, but I was a little taken back by the abuse. The book was long, but I finished in two days. So, that just shows me that I was intrigued because I just couldn’t put it down. There is some pretty graphic and explicit scenes that readers will either applaud or take offense to. So be warned!! If you find yourself interested in erotica, this one has a pretty amazing cast of characters. They’re pretty entertaining with their humor and sexual innuendos. I did find myself chuckling at some of the things said. The story is a little over-the-top, but it never slows down. Looking forward to seeing what Book 2 brings...

This is not a book, it is an experience. Like a roller coaster in the best way. And the writing is amazing. Smart, clever, witty, engaging, sexy... I could go on. I love all these characters! How can I choose who Nora should be with? All of them! Is that bad? I just love how all these relationships intertwine. Nora's past and present, Zach and Nora, Zach and Grace, soren and Nora, Wesley and Nora... That's definitely my favorite, though I know it can't happen, I long for it. Wesley is just so am ...more

5 Stars to this very unusual, yet incredibly gripping read! One I almost did not read for a few reasons. First of all, I do not care for the cover. At first glance it looks like a chick-lit read. I rarely, if ever, read chick-lit. The other thing that put me off was that it was about a writer. I normally don't care to read a book that is about someone writing a book. Same goes for movies. Nora Sutherlin is an infamous erotica author, known for her extraordinary kinky stories. She brings her latest manuscript to Zach, a British editor not particularly interested in editing her “type” of books. But this story is different than her previously published novels, and she wants the best editor. He agrees, with conditions. As the two work tirelessly on the novel, Zach gets to know Nora more and more, realizing that the lady shown to the public is not the same woman. She is so much more, and he is determined to find out just what that is. And Nora wants to keep her darker secrets to herself, at least until the novel is completed to Zach’s approval.

The Siren takes so many twists and turns, a few nose dives, and shocking revelations. I was so sucked into this story with the dark side of Nora. The psychological machinations. It almost makes me want to write a spoilery review. I know this review will not do the book justice, as The Siren was so very well written and plotted. The erotica angles of The Siren were very dark, not particularly for the faint of heart. However, even knowing that, I do believe that the story will appeal to many people, mainly due to the superb writing by Tiffany Reisz.

While the ending was different than I expected, quite different, in fact, it still had an HEA in its own way. I am looking forward to reading the next book, The Angel! If you like your stories a little on the darker, edgier side, with a bit of a psychological twist, I would definitely recommend The Siren! ...more
