Iris is feisty and has survived a lot of trouble in her life - serious trouble. Down on her luck, she goes to Austin to get some help restarting her life from her half-brother Sonny, who is a member of the Widowmakers MC. She ends up working in Dex's tattoo shop - he's also a Widowmaker. I first purchased "Under Locke" 2 years ago in audiobook format. I tried to listen to it twice but couldn't get past about halfway. Just wasn't doing it for me! When I was recently looking for a good read, I checked Mariana Zapata's page because I've really enjoyed some of her other books. That's when I realized I hadn't read the e-book version of this and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did because I loved it! Started off well but once the H and h hooked up all the UST was gone and the rest just dragged for me. It's a long book, and could have been improved and tightened with some decent editing. Iris was annoying and did some incredibly dumb things, coming across as much younger than she was. So overall it was okay, mostly because of Dex, but nowhere near as good as The Wall of Winnipeg.
